SHERMAN OAKS—A man was saved from the Sepulveda Basin on Thursday, December 26 by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., the LAFD was conducting a search of the Sepulveda Basin of an unknown individual they were informed was in need of assistance due to distress.
At 2:15 a.m. officials were able to locate a 52 year-old male victim who needed rescuing due to being in water depths ranging from 3 to 6 feet. The male was found using an in-water inflatable boat.
The victim was brought to safety and was evaluated by paramedics on the scene to rule out possible hypothermia. The name of the victim has not been released to the public. The LAFD continued to search the area to ensure there were no other individuals in need of assistance.
