Celebrities rock up the city that never sleeps to pay tribute to the Costume Institute and their new exhibition.

The star-studded party raised money for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute-but it is also an opportunity for beautiful people to wear beautiful clothes. Every year they have a theme, this year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination-also the title of the Met’s new exhibition. The theme was selected to pay tribute to the masterworks of religious art in the museum through the medium of fashion. The stars rocked the Met Gala. Madonna wore a demure Jean Paul Gaultier full-skirted, long sleeve gown, which looked fabulous.

Her sister Kendal Jenner wore an off-white pants with Jimmy Choo heels. Kylie Jenner wore an Alexander Wang black gown with cutout, tiny sunglasses and Chopard jewelry. Kris Jenner wore a black gown by Tommy Hilfiger.
