UNITED STATES—The White House and the Pentagon were on lockdown on Tuesday, November 26, due to an airspace violation. A small aircraft entered restricted airspace in the National Capital Region causing alarm for Senior National Security officials.

The U.S. Department of Defense was deployed to monitor the situation. Air Force jets scrambled when the unidentified aircraft was unresponsive.

According to reports, reporters at The White House were encouraged to stay inside, and Capitol Hill was evacuated as a precaution.

Northern command jets were on site, and the lockdown status was lifted after the suspicious aircraft was identified as not being hostile.

“The White House was locked down this morning due to a potential violation of the restricted airspace in the National Capital Region,” a Secret Service Spokesman said in a statement to the Associated Press. “The lockdown has been lifted at this time.”

Canyon News reached out to the White House for comment but did not hear back before print.
