WOODLAND HILLS—A woman was rescued from her burning home on Thursday, January 23. A fire broke out in the 23528 block of West Burbank Blvd. in Woodland Hills in a one story home. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the blaze at approximately 2 p.m. indicating that there was heavy smoke. 

One hour after the flames began, firefighters entered the ranch-style home where they searched and rescued a female resident, whose age or name has not been released to the public. LAFD responders provided immediate care and transported the female victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

It took 31 minutes to put out the flames and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Canyon News reached out to LAFD for further comment, but has yet to hear back.
