HOLLYWOOD—Billions of people around the world are tuning in to watch the Fifa World Cup in Russia, which is now very much under way. So now until July 15, we have the so-called soccer experts, who never watch soccer, yet have commentaries for games they know nothing about. Even if you know nothing about soccer, one reason to watch is the eye candy.

Let’s look at some of the good-looking players in the 2018 World Cup. There is Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, 33, who is more good-looking than many professional actors, his face and his chiseled body makes him a hard act to follow. Another gorgeous player is Portugal’s Andre Silva, 22, a touch more rugged, with an impressive head of hair, and incredible abs. The baby-faced forward was picked up last year by AC Milan for over 38 million- and it doesn’t hurt that he has a cute smile, as well.

Yann Sommer, 29, from team Switzerland, is a dreamy Swiss goalkeeper and can pass as Rafael Nadal look alike. He began playing at just 5 years old and is considered one of the team’s biggest assets. Sommer, as it turns out, has a food blog full of healthy recipes. Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, 25, known as “Mo” has more than 16 million Instagram fans and 6 million Twitter followers, this uber-popular Egyptian forward is super popular.

Uruguay’s star player Luis Suarez is objectively handsome, yet he’s also noteworthy for having intentionally bitten three people during games, and was suspended for what England’s Football Association terms “racial abuse.” He got in trouble for head-butting a ref, and making obscene gestures. So we will turn to Nahitan Nandez, 22, who is younger and less problematic and has never attacked anyone with his teeth. When it comes to Iran, the whole team looks like models. Ramin Rezaeian, 28, a defender for Iran, has wonderful triceps and seems to be extremely relevant to our eye candy. While Morocco is out of the World Cup with it’s loss to Portugal on June 20, Medhi Carcela is a mid-fielder, with great looks and model-handsome.

Argentina’s Marcos Rojo, is extremely handsome. Truth be told, Lionel Messi is handsome, but he’s on his way out of international competition. He already briefly retired in 2016 and it might be some time to steal ourselves against that future loss by giving our hearts elsewhere. So, in the name of branching out Marcos is an excellent coifed option. Iceland, who is considered the underdog in the 2018 World Cup, has Rurik Gislason who is super good-looking despite his man-bun.

Brazil’s Neymar Jr. is extremely good at soccer, but he’s also very handsome and deserves a nod. Philippe Coutinho, 26, is called “The Little Magician,” because of the tricks he manages to pull off on the field. His talent got him signed to Inter Milan for over $4 million when he was only 16. This past January, Barcelona brought him on for over $160 million, ranking him the third most expensive football transfer, behind Neymar and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe. Unfortunately, he’s been married to his childhood sweetheart since 2012.

Kylian Mbappe, 19, one of the youngest players at the World Cup, was dubbed “le petit Obama” after he gave such an eloquent press conference last year that won over reporters. The teenage striker, has already been invited to a diplomatic lunch at the Palais de l’ Elysee by French president Emmanuel Macron. Germany’s Mats Hummels, 29, is not only tall, dark and handsome, but one of the teams best defenders. He’s also a philanthropist, traveling around Malawi as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and became one of the first soccer stars to pledge 1 percent of his salary (around $180,000 a week) to Common Goal, an organization that helps bring soccer initiatives to disadvantaged children.

Colombia’s James Rodriguez, 26, became a star at the 2014 World Cup after earning the top scorer spot at the championship and for the signature salsa moves he liked to perform after scoring a goal. Interesting to know, for those into cryptocurrency, he just launched his own cryptocurrency called JR10, becoming the first active soccer player to dabble in blockchain. For those who never heard of Bitcoin, back in November it reached a high of $20,000 a coin, only to drop in the following months to a low of $6,749 as of press time. Japan’s Maya Yoshida, 29, has been called the “rock of Japan’s defense.” If you’re looking for some advice on how to improve your game, he released last month a new inspirational autobiography titled “UnbeatableMind.”

Russia who is hosting the 2018 Word Cup has Igor Akinfeev, 32, who is the captain of the Russian team and one of its biggest star players. His movie-star good looks makes it an easy eye candy. Uruguay’s Edinson Cavani, 31, is the teams second to-scorer, and boy, does he have incredible abs. So, besides watching some of the best players on the planet, you also have some of the hottest players at the World Cup 2018.

Rose’s Scoop: Sir Paul McCartney is not retiring anytime soon, in fact he’s releasing “Egypt Station” in September, which will be his first full album since 2013.
