HOLLYWOOD—For the third consecutive week in a row, the zoo animals reigned supreme at the box-office. The animated hit “Zootopia” remained in the top spot earning an impressive $38 million. In just three weeks the flick has earned over $200 million at the domestic box-office. Globally speaking, the movie has already earned over $600 million since its release.

Proving that a third installment is not always a good thing, was “Allegiant,” the next chapter in the “Divergent” series with a disappointing $29 million. That is a far cry from what other installments in the franchise earned in previous years. Looks like that success that was once echoed for such beloved series like “Harry Potter” and “The Hunger Games” have fizzled. “The Divergent Series” which still has two more installments left to go, looks to be losing interest from fans.

The religious based flick, “Miracles From Heaven” landed in third place with an impressive $18.6 million. The flick starring Jennifer Garner is based on a true story and will likely earn reasonable income going into the Easter holiday weekend. The suspense-thrill ride “10 Cloverfield Lane” fell to fourth place adding another $12.5 million to its total. In less than 2 weeks, the flick is just mere millions from crossing the $50 million mark at the domestic box-office.

Rounding out the top five was the movie “Deadpool” with another $8 million to its tally. After 6 weeks in multiplexes, the foul-mouthed superhero has earned over $340 million at the domestic box-office. I hate to disappoint, but it looks like “Zootopia’s” reign at the box-office is about to come to an end with the arrival of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” arriving in theaters on Thursday. The flick is expected to debut to high numbers, but how high is the bigger question!
