BEVERLY HILLS—In a press release to the Canyon News, Lieutenant Lincoln Hoshino indicated members of the Beverly Hills Police Department participated in the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics on June 5.  The Run helps to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics.

In 2014, more than 85,000 law enforcement officers from 35 nations will participate in the run. From the state of California, a total of 3,500 officers are expected to run 1,500 miles through 200 communities. Runners from the BHPD included Sgt. Max Subin, Sgt. Dave Tomlin, Sgt. Jay Kim, Det. Ubaldo Mendoze, Det. Audra Alatorre, Det. Eric Olson, Ofcr. Dan Tanner and Ofcr. Dale Drummond took hold of the torch from West Hollywood Deputies at Sunset and Sierra.

They carried the torch throughout the streets of Beverly Hills and passed it off to the UCLA Police Department at the LA Country Club on Wilshire.
