LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles Clippers Point Guard Chris Paul will lead his team as they prepare to face off against the new-look Golden State Warriors in a pre-season matchup on Tuesday, October 4.

This season the Clippers look to return to contention, as forward Paul Pierce described his squad’s “super-team” potential at the team’s media day. “To me, I think we have a super-team here. You look at Chris Paul, who has been first team All NBA, Blake Griffin (also) first team, DeAndre Jordan currently first-team All-NBA,” said Pierce.

While the Clippers boast tremendous talent, it means nothing if the team is decimated by injuries as they were last year. A hand fracture and leg injury forced stars Paul and Griffin to sit during last year playoffs, resulting in a first round upset to the Portland Trailblazers.

Regardless of injuries, the Clippers are sure to have their hands full matching a Warriors team that signed 7-time all-star Kevin Durant to compliment superstars Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

The Warriors should be intrigued to test their newly acquired talent against a top Western Conference foe in the Clippers. While only a pre-season game, Tuesdays matchup will set the tone between the two teams, as they meet four times in the regular season.
