UNITED STATES—I have heard so much talk from so many people I know in recent months about Cable. I feel like I’m the only person who still has and pays for Cable. I’ve been with my provider Comcast for more than a decade and my biggest concern is the fact that they charge unsuspecting fees all the time, not to mention the customer service that I have experienced in the last month has been absolutely dreadful, and I mean dreadful.

What’s the issue with Cable? You get a ton of channels, but they’re repeating channels. I mean you can only watch one HBO channel at a time, and I don’t need 10 repeats of the exact same channel. On top of that, more than half of the channels I never watch. I’ve been talking to a lot of people and between Netflix, Hulu and Sling, I could have all the channels that I want and literally slice what I’m currently paying by over 60-70 percent.

I mean I have no idea why I even have a landline anymore because doesn’t everyone use a cellphone to communicate nowadays? It’s part of the bundle package which is supposed to save me money, but in reality I don’t feel like I’m saving money if every time I get a bill, it slightly climbs more and more and more, and to be honest I’m over it America.

I’m so over it. I really only need to have the internet, and after ALL the internet issues I’ve had with Comcast and them NOT fixing the issue that I’ve asked to be fixed since April 2018, its time to find another provider who will actually care about my service. It’s like so many companies can care less about their customers, I mean I’ve literally had Comcast tell me if you call and complain about service not properly working, if you do not callback to follow up with them, they will NOT credit your account. That is the craziest thing I’ve heard in years.

An actual company telling their customer, yeah, we won’t accommodate you if you don’t follow-up with us. My mind is literally blown America. With a New Year upon us, I’m trying to find ways to save money anyway that I possibly can, and it feels like now is the right time to do so. I mean it’s not like anything of value of interest actually airs on Cable for the most part. The Cable providers SHOULD allow customers to pick and choose the channels they select, and you pay only for what you actually watch, versus a load of channels that you NEVER watch, and that you have no intention of ever watching.

If you were to ask me 2 years ago if I would have ever gotten rid of Cable, the answer would be absolutely not. However, with technology continuing to evolve and so many streaming devices making it accessible to watch your favorite shows do you really need anything else? Nope. It all goes to these providers charging way too much and constantly sneaking in fees with the assumption that the viewer will have no idea as to what transpired. The consumers are fed up and they are starting to take action to show enough is enough; it’s time to cut the cord!
