ENCINO—On Thursday, March 10, firefighters responded to a single family home fire at 3166 N. Fond Drive in Encino, Calif., the home of former Mouseketeer, Annette Funicello.

Erik Scott, from the Los Angeles Fire Department, said the fire was confined to the 4000-square-foot structure, and was reported at 7:21 a.m. It was knocked down in 24 minutes.

Although no injuries were reported, three patients, one in a wheelchair, were transported to a local hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. All patients are reported to be in good condition, though it is not clear if Funicello was one of the patients. An estimate for the damage has yet to be determined and investigators are working on the cause of the fire.

Funicello is best known for being a Mouseketeer in The Mickey Mouse Club in the latter ”˜50s and appeared as a co-star to Frankie Avalon in many beached-themed movies.

In 1987, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and in 1993, established the Annette Funicello Fund for Neurological Disorders at the California Community Foundation.
