Santa Monica Man Charged For Giving False Identity

SANTA MONICA—Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a disturbance reported at 10:30 p.m. on December 30 near 11th Street and Washington Avenue.

Apparently under the influence of alcohol, the 75-year old suspect was shouting obscenities near the intersections before officers approached and arrested him.

After asking the suspect for his name and date of birth, police discovered that the man had provided them a false identity, giving them his brother’s name in an attempt to avoid a probation violation.

The unidentified suspect has been charged with providing a false identity in addition to charges of public intoxication.

The suspect has since been granted a $52,000 bail.
