WOODLAND HILLS—The Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center located at 5601 DeSoto Avenue will temporarily close its services until Saturday, January 25 because of a water line break.

The hospital announced on Wednesday, January 22 that the facility has been operating without running water since Sunday, January 19.

While a temporary water line has been installed, the facility has not been able to return to normal operations. Kaiser Permanente has determined that the safest decision for its members, patients, physicians, and staff is to temporarily close services and facilities at the Woodland Hills location.

As of 9 p.m. on January 21, Kaiser Permanente temporarily closed its Urgent Care services. At 11 p.m. the medical facility closed its Emergency Department. All Woodland Hills patients and members were redirected to the closest hospitals for emergency care.

On Wednesday, January 22, patients were no longer being admitted to the hospital. The Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center campus 24-hour Pharmacy remains open for prescription pickup only. The Northside Pharmacy is temporarily closed.

Once the facility completes all required testing of the temporary water line and it has been deemed safe, they will reopen services and resume care at the Woodland Hills Medical Center campus.
