YOUNTVILLE—On Friday, June 3, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Paul Pelosi, founder of Venture Capital and Financial Leasing Services, and husband to the former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was involved in a substantial car crash and then left the scene of the accident.

A witness called 911 and reported that Pelosi, who was driving his brown convertible, struck a parked, unoccupied Tesla.
Napa County law enforcement officers discovered Pelosi’s damaged convertible on Yountville Cross Road, a quarter of a mile away. Paul Pelosi was not arrested because there were no injuries.
Reports indicate that the Napa County Sheriff’s Department (NCSD) recommended a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of an accident. According to NCSD, this was not an alcohol-related crash. Paul Pelosi, 86, has been referred to the Department of Motor Vehicles for a driving evaluation due to his age.
According to reports. Pelosi briefly tapped his brakes and drove away. Pelosi’s convertible reportedly sustained major damage on the front right side, while the Tesla had damage to the rear-end.
A spokesperson for the Pelosi family reported that Paul Pelosi personally apologized to the owner(s) and assured them that they will take full responsibility for the damages incurred.
On May 28, 2022, Paul Pelosi was in another accident in Napa County. He was convicted in Napa County Superior Court on charges filed by the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
Pelosi pleaded guilty to charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Causing Injury. Pelosi’s blood alcohol level was .08 percent.
