LOS ANGELES—On Monday, July 13, the Los Angeles Lakers signed Forward Ziarie Williams to a one-year deal. The deal is for $3 million, where Williams, 24, will be a long athletic wing for the franchise. Williams is coming from the Brooklyn Nets.
He played 56 games last season averaging 10.2 points 1.4 steals on 34.3 percent from three in just 22.9 minutes per game. The Lakers been looking for more size and players who are able to get up and down the floor quick with good enough shooting to surround Luka Doncic.
Williams showed in Brooklyn with his 6-foot 9 frame that he is capable of being a good defender and average shooter for the Los Angeles Lakers.
After the Brooklyn Nets declined his team option, the California native will have a chance to prove why he is valuable in the NBA and earn another contract. Williams is apart of the Luka Doncic era after the LeBron James departure from the team this offseason.
Zaire, Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, are moves made to help Luka and the Lakers compete for a championship.
