SHERMAN OAKS—A man was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday, August 18, while trying to sell his Apple computer in Sherman Oaks. The robbery transpired around 9 p.m. after the victim arranged the sale online, NBC Los Angeles first reported. He met with two unidentified suspects near the 15000 block of Magnolia Blvd.

One of the suspects pulled out a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and demanded he hand over the computer. Both suspects fled with the Apple computer. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident. No suspects have been arrested in the incident.

This is not the first time someone has been robbed while trying to sell items to a buyer they met online. The LAPD is warning the public about similar robberies tied to digital marketplaces like OfferUp and Craigslist. Police officers recommend the public meeting in designated safe zones, such as a police station parking lot or another well-lit public area.
