LOS ANGELES–The worst kept secret in Hollywood has finally been revealed: Aaron Donald has come out of retirement to rejoin the stacked Los Angeles Rams in pursuit of another Super Bowl title.
On Sunday, August 30 Donald agreed to a one-year deal worth $20 million that can escalate up to $30 million for 2026, per a source.
Donald has been working out in the same intense and urgent fashion that he gained a reputation for utilizing during his previous time in the NFL. Those workouts previously helped Donald become one of the best defensive players of his generation and one of the great defensive linemen of all time.
The three-time Defensive player of the Year wants to join forces with current Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Watching these two legends lineup on opposite ends of the field will be a dream come true for Rams fans, as well as a nightmare for opposing Quarterbacks.
Donald’s fire was obviously rekindled by the fact the Rams are going for it this coming season.
His two goals this upcoming 2026 season are to regain his form and ability from his first Hall of Fame career. No. 2 win the Super Bowl!
The combination of Garrett and Donald – and their five Defensive Player of the Year awards – offers the Rams the possibility of having the most epic defensive line in NFL history if both play to expectation and past performance.
The Rams also happened to add corner backs Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson this offseason.
What an amazing offseason the Rams have put together. These Los Angeles Rams are one of the strongest Super Bowl favorites in recent years.
The Super Bowl this season is in SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. At this point it would be a surprise if the Rams aren’t playing on their home turf on Feb. 14.

“We’ll see what that ramp-up period looks like, whether or not he’s available or whether or not we think it’s best to be able to play him in Australia. I think the best way to do it is to take it one day at a time, but we’re obviously excited to be able to have him back.”
The 13th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Donald enjoyed a dominant 10-year run with the Rams that saw him record a franchise-record 111 sacks. His first decade with the Rams also included 10 consecutive Pro Bowl nods.
Nine All-Pro selections and being the league’s Defensive Player of the Year recipient in 2017, 2018 and in 2020.
