HOLLYWOOD—A 25 year old security guard was shot at a Metro Station on the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue on Thursday, August 29 around 9 p.m.

The victim called 911 after being shot and identified himself as a security guard to the dispatcher. Officers responded to the location about 9:30 p.m. where they located the victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Officials could not immediately confirm that the victim was a security guard until they arrived on the scene. The security guard was transported to a local hospital.

The Metro Station was closed as authorities investigated the scene and collected evidence. The Metro Red Line was not impacted by the shooting.

The suspect fled the scene, but was last seen wearing white shorts and a white hoodie sweatshirt. He is described as a Hispanic male approximately 20 years old, standing about 5 feet and 10 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds. The suspect was reported to be armed and dangerous.

The name of the security guard has not been released to the public. Authorities are still investigating a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact authorities.
