HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to extinguish a blazing fire in the vicinity of the 3100 block of North Hollyridge Drive in Hollywood Hills on Friday, October 4.
Reports of heavy smoke coming from a home were made around 10:30 a.m. to officials. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they worked to extinguish the fire from the rooftop of the hillside home. Video footage of the fire was broadcasted live on television.
The three-story, 2,009 square foot home was built in 2009, and filled with smoke as firefighters fought the blaze. Firefighters cut holes in the roof to ventilate the home and battle the fire, as they fought their way inside the home to fight the fire internally.
According to the LAFD, narrow streets and steep grades presented challenges getting apparatus and equipment to the home.
The fire was extinguished by 11:45 a.m. Officials are investigating the exact cause of the fire. There were no reports of any injuries during the fire.
