BEVERLY HILLS—The American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) is hosting the third annual Los Angeles Red Star Ball. The gala, which raises funds to save lives in Israel and around the world, will be held on Thursday, October 22, in the International Ballroom at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The ball supports Magen David Adom, an organization dedicated to serving as emergency medical first responders for Israel. MDA, which solely relies on charitable donations, also serves as a blood-services and disaster-relief organization for the 8 million people living in Israel.

The three hour event, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. will have a special guest performance by Jerry Seinfeld and will honor Gila & Adam Milstein with the Humanitarian of the Year Award. Additional honorees include Ruth Flinkman-Marandy & Ben Marandy with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Barak Raviv with the Next Generation Award.

According to the American Friends of Magen David Adom’s website, the funds raised throughout the gala will be used to help support MDA’s new national underground blood center that is designed to protect Israel’s blood supply from natural disasters and terror attacks. The amount raised will also be used to purchase essential medical supplies and MDA’s life-support ambulances.

The Los Angeles Red Star ball is currently sold out, but tickets to the after party are still available. You can reserve a spot via Wizevent.

Last year’s gala, which was hosted by Jay Leno and featured a musical performance by Paul Anka, raised over $6 million, with over 1,000 guests in attendance. Singer-songwriter and record producer Toni Braxton and with U.S. Army Soldier J.R. Martinez lent support for the evening.
