WESTWOOD–An unidentified and armed Lyft driver is on the run after allegedly taking personal items from a passenger totaling $2,950 on August 31. The story was first reported by KTLA 5. 

Albert Sera indicated he order a Lyft around 1:45 a.m. in the San Fernando Valley before he was picked up on Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard. 

During the ride, the driver allegedly canceled the ride and pulled over in a dark lit alley where he order the passenger to exit the vehicle while pointing a gun to his face stating “Get Out.”

Sera left his personal items including a cell phone and wallet inside the vehicle. He was not injured during the incident.

The ride share company was able to trace the driver under the name Nasser who registered a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban. Authorities discovered that Sera’s credit card was also used with estimated purchases totaling thousands of dollars. 

The case is currently under investigation with the Los Angeles Police Department.
