MALIBU—Caltrans has announced that there will be lane closures on Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard for Palisades Fire Repair Work August 23-August 30.
Motorists should expect delays and changing traffic patterns. Slow down, watch for workers and work vehicles, and remember fines may be doubled in construction zones.
PCH Closures
• Las Flores Canyon Road to Sunset Blvd: Weekdays, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. as needed for creek cleanup, drainage and slope repairs. Rambla Pacifico right-turn lane closed.
• Las Flores Canyon Road: SCE work on August 23, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Northbound PCH reduced to one lane for about one mile.
• Big Rock Drive: SCE work on August 23, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Northbound PCH reduced to one lane for about one mile.
• Pena Road to Tuna Canyon Road: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as needed. Southbound PCH reduced to one lane for retaining wall work.
• Sunset Boulevard to Porto Marina Way: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mon–Fri nights. Northbound PCH fully closed; both directions use southbound lanes.
Topanga Canyon Boulevard
• Work zone speed limit: 15 mph.
• Wed, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Intermittent one-lane traffic with flaggers for temporary paving.
• Fri, August 28, 9 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.: One-lane traffic with flaggers.
• Fri, August 28, 11:59 p.m. to Saturday, August 29, 8 a.m.: FULL CLOSURE from PCH to Grand View Drive
• Mon–Fri nights, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.: One-lane traffic between Cezanne Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway for guardrail and shoulder work.
