SANTA MONICA—The Simi Valley Police Department prevented 25-year-old Peter Corso, of Los Angeles, from taking teen girl into a hotel room in Santa Monica. Corso was arrested on March 1.

The SVPD Dispatch were tipped off by a concerned party about her 16-year-old friend around 1:30 a.m. informing them that her friend was going to sneak out from home to meet up with a man she’d been communicating with online in a sexual manner.

Authorities were able to learn that the teen and suspect agreed to meet at a 7-11 in the area on the 5800 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley.

Officers located Corso at the location. He was identified and booked for contacting a minor for intent to commit a felony, arranging a meeting with a minor engaging in lewd or lascivious behavior and for arriving to the arranged meeting place. Corso is expected to appear in court on March 20.

In a news release, the Simi Valley Police Department reminded parents of juveniles about the dangers associated with online match making applications.
