HOLLYWOOD—With the year 2010 winding down, daytime television actors and actresses are being considered for the 2011 Daytime Emmy award® nominations. Last week we took a look at the lead actors and actresses who I believe are worthy of the esteemed nomination, and this week, we look at the supporting players who added so much depth and entertainment to their roles. Every year the outstanding people who continue to showcase their thespian skills wait patiently to see if their names will be on the short list of nominees. There are at least three major stars who should be nominated for an Emmy award® this year for their outstanding work. Ashley Jones, who portrays Bridget Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful”; Cristel Khalil, who portrays Lily Ashby on “The Young and the Restless”; and two-time Emmy winner Rick Hearst, who portrays Whip Jones on “The Bold and the Beautiful” each gave stellar performances on every episode they were featured in 2010.

Ashley Jones has portrayed Doctor Bridget Forrester for several years on the hit soap, and she’s also played a shape shifting bad girl on HBO’s “True Blood.” Jones is one of the most outstanding performers in the industry today. Being so beautiful, many times she’s overlooked for her acting ability, which is sensational. From the time she portrayed Megan on “Y&R” in the 1990s, Jones has proved that she’s always on cue. Bridget faced losing another child, losing her husband and having an affair and child by her father-in-law in 2010. Voters should not forget Ashley is an incredible actress.

Cristel Khalil, who portrays Lily Winters Ashby on “Y&R” has had the best year of her career. This year the exotic beauty played a cancer stricken dying woman, who fought back with stem cell treatments to remain in the lives of her husband Cane and her beautiful twins Charlie and Matilda. Now much better, Lily faces more lies from the love of her life, Cane and fans are excited whenever they get to see Khalil as the ultimate heroine on the soap.

For most of 2010 Whip Jones’s portrayer, the handsome two-time Emmy award® winner Rick Hearst may not have been stretching his acting muscles, but since November the star has been doing an awesome job. This week Whip decided to get even with his wife’s ex-husband Ridge and in doing so his portrayer had extremely exciting and dramatic scenes.

Ashley, Cristel and Rick deserve supporting Emmy® nominations for their amazing work, which fans can see on “Y&R” and “B&B” weekdays on CBS.
