SANTA MONICA—The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, September 23, that Guido Germano, 59, of Santa Monica entered a no contest plea to one felony count of being in possession of youth or child pornography.

The defendant served as the director of artificial intelligence medicine at a local hospital, where he shared child pornography videos using peer-to-peer software and downloaded them on his personal computer at his home, the prosecutor noted.

Germano was ordered to attend a minimum of 52 weeks of sexual offender counseling, and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, forfeiting any devices which held any child pornography videos, or images. He was sentenced immediately to five years of formal felony probation. The case was investigated by District Attorney’s Office, Bureau of Investigation.
