HOLLYWOOD—Actress and comedian Suzanne Whang, 56, passed away at her Los Angeles home on Tuesday, September 17 around 7:20 p.m., due to a breast cancer related illness. The news was confirmed by her husband Jeff Vezain in a Facebook post on Thursday, September 19.

“Suzanne breathed her last breath here at home, as I knelt beside her and caressed her,” he wrote. “For thirteen years she confronted cancer with courage, humor, determination and optimism.”

Friends and numerous co-stars expressed condolences of Whang’s passing via social media platforms.

According to reports, in 2006, Whang was first diagnosed with breast cancer where she received monitored treatment over the years. In 2011, the star obtained news from doctors that she had six months to live, but she announced a fight to beat the disease.

She was then diagnosed cancer-free for seven years, until the disease returned in October 2018.

The star is best known for recurring hosting role from 1999-2007 on the hit television series, “House Hunters” a real estate series on HGTV.

The star worked consistently as an entertainer in Hollywood wearing many hat’s including, roles on sitcoms as an actress, comedian, and co-host on “TV’s Censored Bloopers with Dick Clark,” as well as “FOX After Breakfast” with Tom Bergeron in Hollywood.
