HOLLYWOOD HILLS—A 21 year old female hiker was rescued on Tuesday, January 7, near the famed ‘Hollywood’ sign.

At approximately 9:35 a.m., LAFD Air Ops announced to the public via their website alerts, they were lowering a paramedic to assess a situation involving a female patient who was 100-150 feet down a hillside on the hiking trail off 3600 N Mt Lee Drive.

After assessing the surrounding areas, the Los Angeles Fire Department determined a hoist operation had to be conducted in order to bring the patient to a safe area. Around 10:15 a.m., the female hiker was safely rescued and transported via helicopter to assess for any injuries. The name of the victim has not been released to the public.
