STUDIO CITY—A female sheriff’s deputy was injured in a hit and run on Friday, August 3, officials reported. The deputy was reportedly on duty, patrolling on a bike, when a black vehicle struck her and drove off.
According to reports, the deputy was struck sometime close to midnight near Universal Studios. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle has been described as a black Ford Mustang. After the incident, the deputy was brought to Cedar-Sinai hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
The name of the deputy is unknown, and there is limited details on a suspect in the case, according to reports.
An investigation by the California Highway Patrol is underway. Canyon News reached out to the California Highway Patrol, but did not receive new information.
