SANTA MONICA—On Thursday, April 16, a 51-year-old woman from La Cañada was arrested for allegedly crashing into multiple cars while intoxicated. It occurred at around 5:15 p.m. near 32nd and Pearl Street.
Witnesses reported that the suspect, Mary Van Dyke, hit several cars before parking in the driveway of a residence on 32nd Street and leaving the scene on foot.
When Santa Monica Police Department officers arrived on the scene, witnesses described the suspect as a middle-aged woman wearing jeans and a pink t-shirt. Officers spotted the suspect who matched the description, who was approached by authorities who deemed her to be intoxicated.
She was booked at 12:08 a.m. on April 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as reckless driving and misdemeanor hit and run. Bail was set at $15,000.
