SHERMAN OAKS—On Friday, August 21, the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a grass fire in Sherman Oaks. The fire was reported at 12:11 p.m. at 15620 W. Burbank Blvd. It was a 50′ x 50′ patch of light grass — forward progress stopped in 16 minutes by first-arriving companies. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Firefighters battled another grass fire in Sherman Oaks at 4700 N Hazeltine Avenue. Approximately one acre of light brush burned between the Los Angeles River and the 101 Freeway.

Forward progress was stopped in 38 minutes by 29 firefighters working on scene. LAFD Crew 3A attached to assist with mop-up and full containment operations. No injuries were reported; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
