PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Los Angeles Lakers snapped a season high eight-game losing streak, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 100-89 on Friday, December 16.

Julius Randle scored a game high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds and four assists in the Lakers first victory since November. D’Angelo Russell had 15 points and seven rebounds while Lou Williams added 18 points off the bench; Nick Young contributed 15 points.

“I thought we came out and set our tone defensively early on and had one of our better defensive games,” said Lakers head coach Luke Walton. “Better communication and better effort from everybody. We had guys really committed to playing defense tonight.”

Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 15 points, four rebounds and two assists in their second consecutive loss. Robert Covington and Jahlil Okafor scored 14 points each. Ersan Ilyasova added 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Philadelphia has lost 8 of their last 10 games, falling to 6-20 overall and tying the Dallas Mavericks for the NBA’s worst record.

The 76ers will host the Brooklyn Nets in their next game on Sunday, December 18.

The Lakers are now 11-18 on the season and 11th place in the Western Conference. Los Angeles will continue a seven-game road trip with a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, December 17.
