LONG BEACH—On Tuesday, March 5, a Los Angeles Police Department sergeant was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run without injury in Long Beach.

Oscar Ontiveros, 46, was in his black sedan, driving down the 1500 block of East Ocean Boulevard when he struck two parked vehicles. Ontiveros fled the scene.

Officers received a phone call from a witness who stated that they spotted the black sedan on the 200 block of Alamitos Avenue. Ontiveros was taken into custody shortly after. There were no reports of any injuries during the incident, but one of the cars that Ontiveros struck sustained extensive damage. Ontiveros was released Tuesday night on his own recognizance.

The LAPD sergeant, of San Pedro was arrested for two misdemeanors, driving under the influence and a hit-and-run without injury. The LAPD commented on the incident announcing that a personnel investigation has been initiated and that Ontiveros has been placed on desk duty.
