MALIBU—On Saturday, June 20, the city of malibu announced that the Malibu Skate Park officially opened. The park operates daily from 8:30 a.m. to sunset. All skate park users are required to wear a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads.
Failure to wear required safety gear may result in a citation under MMC 12.08.250. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and no E-bikes or motorized equipment is allowed.
Skating is permitted in authorized areas only and there is no skating allowed on curbs, parking lots or pedestrian walkways. Spectators are not permitted in the skate area, and no animals are allowed in the Skate Park.
The opening event featured skate demos by Xgames Los Angeles athletes, including Olympic medalist and local Tom Schaar.
