PACIFIC PALISADES—From August 7 to August 9, Los Angeles Clippers small forward Matt Barnes will host his eighth annual basketball camp for children ages 6 to 14.
Early registration for the camp, which will be held at Palisades Charter High School, is now open. Until July 1, the registration fee is $250 per camper; after July 1, the price increases to $300 per camper.
According to the official website, the Matt Barnes Basketball Camp is designed “to help players, at all levels, improve their basketball skills and understand the game’s techniques.” Daily activities for the campers will include teamwork exercises, strategic skill sessions, and 5-on-5 games, as well as shooting and dribbling drills. The camp will be “a one-of-a-kind experience … that includes basketball training, mentorship and the opportunity to form lifetime friendships.”
Barnes is a 13-year veteran of the National Basketball Association. In his third season with the Clippers, Barnes scored an average of 10.1 points with 44.4 percent accuracy during 29.9 minutes of game time.
The camp allows Barnes, who does philanthropic work off the court, to give back to the community, and to foster “the spirit to succeed” both on and off the court.
