CALIFORNIA—The Heavy metal band, Metallica, announced on Monday, November 4 that they would be donating $100,000 to support California Wildfire relief effort foundations.

Via the band’s “All Within my Hands” foundation, they announced on their Twitter account that they would be donating $50,000 to the Sonoma County Resilience Fund and $50,000 to the Wildfire Relief Fund in order to assist in providing aid to those affected by the many wildfires that have been occurring in California for the past few weeks.

The band also asked their fans donate what they could to the relief funds in the following tweet:

“We would also like to encourage you to join us in supporting those in need as well as the first responders who have been working tirelessly to keep Californians safe. Whether you are able to contribute money, non-perishable food, clothing and other supplies, or your time by volunteering or providing temporary housing, every bit helps.”

Metallica created the “AWMH” foundation in 2017 and their mission is to create sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.
