SANTA MONICA─ On Saturday, January 25, at 9:23 p.m., the Santa Monica Fire Department responded to a 3 car multi vehicle accident at Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and the California incline noted Public Information Officer and Captain Eric Himler of the SMPD in an email to Canyon News.

Engine 7 was on scene immediately and provided patient stabilization for two victims seriously injured during the crash. The Truck Company provided extrication, using the jaws of life to free the patients from the wrecked vehicles. Engine 1 assisted with patient care. Two of the victims were transported to a local trauma center and three patients were transported to local hospitals.

All patients were treated and transported within 30 minutes of the first arriving engine. PCH was closed in both directions for the duration of the incident. The Santa Monica Police Department is remained on scene to conduct the traffic investigation and clean-up debris before re-opening the highway to the public.
