MCALLEN, TX—Wives of the Texas Border Patrol sent Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, a letter inviting her to the Rio Grande Valley to see what border patrol agents encounter on a daily basis.
Fox News Insider interviewed Jill Demanski who penned the letter and Renae Perez to examine conditions at the border. The women spoke about the dangerous jobs for border patrol, who sometimes work alone, and went without pay for nearly 4 weeks.
Demanksi posted the letter on Facebook that read: “We want to show you around! You don’t need to bring any security detail. Our husbands/significant others are actually very good at their jobs, Thank Goodness!”
“It was kind of written in a time of high emotion,” Demanski told Fox News. “We felt like no one cared about us.”
“It is definitely needed,” said Perez. “We just want them to come down there on the line and actually see where the whole argument is about.”
“We finally have a President that has come here and seen firsthand the need for it, and has had our back,” said Demanski. “You can support a wall without being a supporter of Trump.”
Pelosi has spoken about the border wall calling it “Trump’s wall,” and in her recent address from The White House called it “Trump’s obsession.”
Fox News stated that Pelosi often spoke of the wall as “immoral.”
Arizona Rancher, Chris Burgard, invited Pelosi to visit the Arizona border offering to pay for airfare and accomodations in a January 27 video by Bretibart’s Robert Kraychik.
“My buddy John, his ranch is down on the border in Arizona. He says he’s had over two million illegal aliens and too many tons of narcotics come across his ranch. So a few years ago, he invited Nancy Pelosi to come down for a visit. He said he’d even send a plane for her,” said Burgard.
“House Democrats look forward to working in a bipartisan, bicameral way to pass legislation to fund the government in a manner that honors our values, respects our workers, and protects our borders,” said Nancy Pelosi in a statement on her website.
