SANTA MONICA—Santa Monica Beach known for the Santa Monica Pier, will now host their first major music festival featuring different artists.
Sept 26-27 will be a two-day event headlined by Olivia Dean and The Killers called Ocean Way Festival. Coachella and Stagecoach promoter Goldenvoice will be producing the festival and providing some experience and organization to make it successful.
Olivia Dean has been a growing artist over the past year where she released her second album “The Art of Loving.” The album was No. 1 in the United Kingdom and is the longest running number #1 album by a British female artist of the decade.
Dean’s album debuted at the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 3 in the country. Dean has a single on the album called “Man I Need” which entered the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ocean Way Festival will include other artist to perform like Sublime, Durand Jones & the Indications, SG Lewis, Jack White, BLOND:ISH, and more.
Presale tickets will start July 22 for the residents of Santa Monica and July 23 will be the sale for the general public.
The name came from a popular street in Santa Monica that became a household record studio over four decades ago.
