UNITED STATES−Eleven teenagers attacked a 68-year-old man on a passenger train in Chicago, Illinois on February 3.
Video footage was captured on the subway surveillance camera obtained by Fox News showing an older male sitting on the train appearing to be asleep. He woke up when a teen girl attempted to pickpocket him. Several Black teens approached the victim dragging him to the floor and beating him with their fists. The victim returned to his seat as the beatings continued. Additional suspects joined in, with a male teen grabbing the handles and pummeled the victim with his feet.
Authorities have not indicated if anyone attempted to intervene to assist the victim who was left bleeding on the red line train. Staff helped him off the train at Argyle Station.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he suffered lacerations, and blunt force trauma. Authorities apprehended a group of teens for questioning nearby the Argyle Station. No charges were filed as they teens were not able to be identified.
The Chicago Police Department told Fox News that the beating is under investigation, but no one is in custody because the victim “was unable to identify his attacker(s) due to his injuries.”
A police source informed Fox News that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office “wouldn’t touch” the case if the victim can’t identify those accused or is unable to cooperate. When reached about prosecuting the case, state’s attorney’s office responded: “We are unable to comment.”
