WESTWOOD—A large portion of Sunset Boulevard is expected to be congested over the weekend to accommodate construction.
The city of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services is restricting the street to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, April 7 until April 8 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The zone stretches from Westwood Plaza to Veteran Avenue.
During this weekend, they will cold plane and resurface the street’s right hand lane. Local residents have requested a repaved right hand lane for years, as its current condition is considered hazardous for bicyclists and drivers. Motorists who take Sunset are advised to use Wilshire Boulevard as an alternate route.
