MALIBU—The victim killed on Pacific Coast Highway on September 27, has been identified as Ronald Fuote, 76, of Calabasas, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office revealed. Fuote was hit and killed at 21271 Pacific Coast Highway close to Rambla Pacifico while crossing the street.
The accident was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department/Lost Hills Station. Fuote was knocked 10 feet while crossing the street as he attempted to walk to his vehicle. He was killed instantly on the scene indicated by Lieutenant Anna Carrillo of the LASD.
The victim died as a result of blunt force trauma. The driver was distraught and suffered injuries to his face and hands and agreed to a sobriety test. According to witnesses on the scene, he walked a straight line, and agreed to give a blood sample. No alcohol or drugs were found to be a cause of the collision indicated by Lieutenant Jennifer Seetoo of the LASD Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station to Canyon News.
