MALIBU—A Pepperdine student was sexually assaulted in her apartment by a man who is said to be transient on February 8.

The incident transpired at about 3:45 a.m. at an apartment located on the 23900 block of Civic Center Way. The suspect entered the unlocked door of the apartment and assaulted the sleeping woman. She woke up in the middle of the assault and the suspect apologized to her and quickly fled the scene.

Authorities believe that the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the crime transpired. According to reports, nothing was taken from the apartment, and details about the victim has not been released to the public.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male about 30 years of age, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and a long beard and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and a black backwards baseball cap.
