LOS FELIZ—From July 24-25, a pop-up art show will take place in Los Feliz, featuring the work of artist Jocelyn Josef.

Josef is a Los Angeles-based artist from Hawaii, and this is her premier solo exhibition. The show will include works from her series “The Journal of a Woman in Love.” She is known for creating artworks in two distinct styles: “squarism,” a term she coined herself, and pop collage. Squarism takes inspiration from cubist artists like Picasso, and her pop collages combine a wide variety of materials, from magazine cut-outs to doll house miniatures.

The art show is happening next door to Skylight Books; the address for the venue is 1816 N Vermont Ave. Thursday, July 23 is a VIP event, running from 6-10 p.m., where VIPs (writers, editors, artists, art professionals, critics, professors, celebrities, friends) can attend.
