HOLLYWOOD—So would the father and daughter who have been estranged for more than 20 years be happily ever after? Not quite. In episode eight ‘Contact,’ Emily did her best to wrap her mind about her father’s failure to reunite with her. Be patient “Revenge” fans because a new mystery about just who was holding David captive has surfaced.
An unconscious Victoria was certainly on her death bed, which forced Emily to decide rather to help her nemesis or let her die. It seems her father has a bigger conscious for forgiveness than she does. Margaux left Daniel’s abode in a fury letting him know their relationship is done! Louise tried to buddy up to her, but the power publisher made it very clear that she has created an enemy. Must say I love this new Margaux.
Jack’s world was rocked when Nolan disclosed that Charlotte killed Vince, not Emily. Nolan tried his best to reason with Emily about how to approach her father now that he knows the truth. It became apparent that Victoria was a popular guest at the hospital, as Louise and Emily stopped by to pay visits. Thankfully, the nutty Louise was turned away, but David vouched for Emily to get a pass. Seems like Louise is implementing plans to get pregnant to keep Daniel wrapped around her finger.
Daniel thinking Margaux had forgiven him was thrown when his seductress turned out to be Louise. He finally lashed out at her realizing he may have made a bad situation even worse. In an interesting partnership, Margaux asked Nolan to hack into criminal files to get the goods on Louise, but he turned her down. He would later change his mind after realizing his new ‘friend’ might not have it all there.
As Emily and David shared an intense conversation, Victoria devised a plan to interrupt the bonding between father and daughter. I mean this woman is crazy; she’d but her own life at risk to get what she wants. The audience learned that David did not take those photos; he was being blackmailed by someone even more powerful than Conrad Grayson to do some evil things. That tattoo on Vince’s arm seemed to juggle some memories in David as well, so how does Vince play into all of this?
Jack found himself working with the FBI and getting quite close with his new friend. Why do I suspect this woman is a plant? For her to get so close to Jack in such a quick amount of time is no coincidence. A brief chat with her former husband led Emily to take another stab at speaking with her father. Good thing she went back to the hospital, as her father was ambushed by two assailants.
David seemed a bit thrown to see the physical capabilities that his daughter can do on the fly. David confronted Victoria about Emily’s true identity, and she spilled her guts. Must say I’m surprised David remained in a calm state of mind. He revealed to Emily that him being stabbed in prison was ruse for escape. Emily wanted details on things, but her father was not willing to put his daughter in danger. Hmm, I think we know Emily never backs down from the truth.
Daniel reeling with guilt paid Victoria a visit at the hospital, where the estranged mother and son’s relationship was strained even more. Will these two ever reconcile? Margaux and Nolan came to an agreement to help one another. Well, well, two enemies have now become allies. The final moments of the episode saw Emily telling Nolan that she is okay without digging deeper to discover the truth of what happened to her father. Nolan seemed to be at peace with that, but c’mon did the audience really expect Emily to give up that easily? Nope.
We later saw her holding one of her father’s attackers captive in a sealed room. With a burning poker in hand, Emily was determined to get answers! Can’t wait to learn who this new big threat is? I have a feeling it’s someone we might have seen before. Until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
