“The Ed Foundation is honored to manage the Samohi Scholarship Fund, which gives out approximately $184,227 in scholarships to approximately 200 graduating seniors every year. SAMOHI students are incredibly fortunate to be supported by a community of donors who want to assist in their future endeavors.
The Samohi Scholarship Fund is run by the Samohi Scholarship Committee, comprised of three college counselors, current and former teachers, community members with a connection to Samohi. Each spring, seniors are invited to apply for a myriad of scholarships. At the end of each school year, there is a ceremony where scholarship funders can meet the student recipients.”
The Executive Director of SMEF, Raymur Flynn made the following statement regarding school funding:
“Every dollar given this past year is a direct investment in our students’ futures. In a time when public funding falls short of what our children deserve, our donors have stepped up to ensure vibrant, enriching programs remain a core part of a Santa Monica Education.”
