UNITED STATES—Well it looks like the Republican Party has found a way to maintain the reigns of the House and the Senate. Super Tuesday as many political pundits like to call it proved to be a victorious one for the Republican Party who was able to gain control of the Senate and the House for the first time since 2008.

So precisely what does this mean for the President of the United States of America? He’ll have a difficult time getting any laws or work done in his last two years in office. What does that mean for the American people, good luck on seeing any major change in the political arena? Issues surrounding the minimum wage, immigration, health care, and small business tax will continue to be heavily debated. Here is my concern: both the Democrats and Republicans continue to fight against one another.

This does nothing for the rest of America. We are sick and tired of these two political groups fighting one another on issues that have a dramatic effect on all of us. The goal is not to have one party in control of everything; why? It only creates inequality if you ask me. Democrats and Republicans have to learn a very hard and decisive lesson: you are not elected into office to run your own personal agenda. You were elected by your constituents to represent them. In other words, do what is best for them, not the individuals who lined your pockets during your campaign run.

The sad thing about the constant shift in power in the political arena is that it will be short-lived. Watch as the Democrats and Republicans fail to get anything done, which will result in Americans being even more mystified and pissed come 2016. Why is 2016 so important? It’s a Presidential election. It’s no secret that more people turn out to vote when the Presidency is at stake. If you have any doubts about my assertion, look back to the 2008 and 2012 elections; Barack Obama had people of all ages turn out in massive droves.

That isn’t the reason 2016 is going to be so important. More seats in the House and the Senate will be up for grabs in addition to the President. And 2016 will be a very important year because it could be the first time in history a female president could be elected to office. While it has not been confirmed at the moment, constant rumors are circling that Former First Lady and Secretary of the State Hilary Clinton could be running to be Commander in Chief.

Now the Republican Party has a few names in the mix, but no one at the current moment that could really compete with Hilary if she does indeed choose to run. She has a slew of things going for her: popularity, notoriety, respect, a firm checklist and she could be the first female President ever. That means women are likely to turn out in droves to get the opportunity to have a woman in power.

If things turn out as I expect in 2016, we could have our first female President, and with that another shift in power in Congress, where the Democrats will find themselves in control of power, possibly holding the House, the Senate and the Presidency. That is the thing about power, no one maintains it forever, and it constantly switches back and forth from one pendulum to the next.
