SANTA MONICA—A new festival behind the promoter of Coachella, Goldenvoice, is coming to Santa Monica Beach. Ocean Way is a new festival debuting the weekend of September 26 and 27 with headliners such as The Killers, Olivia Dean, and Jack White.
Ocean Way gets its name from the Ocean Way Recording Studios and celebrates California beach culture with live performances, food, and various vendors. The vice president of Goldenvoice wanted this festival to be a part of Santa Monica’s magnetic music history.
“Santa Monica has an incredible music history, and Goldenvoice has been fortunate to be part of that story,” said Vice President of Goldenvoice, Nic Adler, to The Los Angeles Times.
The lineup for Saturday, September 26, will feature more rock-based music acts. Headlining artists include The Killers, Sublime, Jack White, Alvvays, 54 Ultra, and more. Sunday, September 27 will feature more pop-oriented acts, with headliner Olivia Dean and performances by Khruangbin, Durand Jones and the Indications, Poolside, Hiatus Kaiyote and more.
Leading up to the festival, Santa Monica is inviting the community to fun, free events to get excited for the festival. These events include free concerts, youth surf, and water safety programming.
Tickets to Ocean Way go on sale on Thursday, July 23 at 11 a.m. PST. Two-day general admission starting at $399 and two-day premium pit with admission starting at $749, which includes access to the premium pit at the main stage with a bar, flushable restrooms, and access to an elevated viewing deck.
It is noted that this event will have no parking and is designed to be transit oriented. Guests are encouraged to take the E-Line as the terminus is steps from the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street.
