HOLLYWOOD—Look, I will be the first to admit, I was super underwhelmed by the big reveal that Willow Tait, of all people was the person who shot Drew Cain on “General Hospital.” Why? Willow was seen as the main suspect for months, and for the writers to actually make the MAIN SUSPECT the culprit, just felt like lazy writing in my opinion.
They couldn’t figure out a way to truly surprise the audience with a suspect, and this is what they concluded with. It hasn’t been revealed just yet, but it is so obvious that Willow will be found not guilty by the jury and gain her freedom. Why is this problematic: Trina, Kai, Alexis and Diane all know that Willow is guilty of shooting Drew.
What’s the problem? She can’t be tried again because of double jeopardy. If Trina or Kai comes forward, they become suspects in Drew’s shooting and that is not good at all. If Alexis comes forward, she loses her opportunity to practice law and this time it’s going to be permanent. Willow is about to be roaming around Port Charles, well aware that she shot Drew and nearly killed him in the process.
I will admit I am intrigued by this notion of trying to figure out precisely how people react to knowing what Willow did once it comes out. You cannot retry her for a crime that she committed, and that potentially sets up a murder mystery where someone takes out Willow. Would that be a bold move, without a doubt, but “GH” is certainly boxing the character in a corner that I’m not sure she can come out of unless some crazy twists explode. Which is quite possible?
With that said, another lackluster reveal with Director McCullum being Jenz Sidwell’s secret partner. Seriously what are the writers thinking. Jenz is NOT A THREATENING VILLIAN AT ALL AND NEITHER IS HIS SON! There better be a bigger name at play because right now, everything is falling super flat for me, and I have no interest in this reveal of what Faison’s last project was. We know Anna is being held captive, she didn’t see McCullum’s face, but it was apparent that Jack Brennan is now intertwined into this melee.
Carly and Valentin are still working to take him down, but there is a slight problem: Valentin was spotted by Ava. Now, Ava why in the world would you give up Valentin? At this current moment, it feels like the writers are not sure what to do with Ava Jerome and that is such a shame. One thing for sure is putting her in the orbit of Jenz Sidwell ain’t it. Same with Chase and Brook Lynn. We know Willow is no threat to their marriage, but it would be nice to see some tension between the two if another woman or potential man cause temptation for the married couple.
It is becoming more obvious by the minute that Nathan and Lulu will become an item, and I guarantee you as soon as that transpires, Maxie is going to wake up and that is going to change everything. Yes, Spinelli and Maxie are cute, but Nathan, Nathan West has always been Maxie’s one true love, and I don’t care what anyone says. I’m still not sold on the fact that Nathan may not be who people think he is. We shall see as sweeps are less than 2 weeks away, so I know the big reveals are soon coming.
