BEVERLY HILLS—On Wednesday, January 13, at approximately 4:05 p.m., a Beverly Hills Water Co. water main broke causing water to shut off on the 8800 block of Harratt Street in West Hollywood.

Crews are excavating the site to make repairs in the affected area, which is currently closed to traffic.

The Beverly Hills Public Works Services personnel have been on site throughout Wednesday evening to make repairs, evaluate damage, and assist residents.

The Beverly Hills Police Department’s Nixle account noted that the Los Angeles County Fire and West Hollywood Public Works have been on scene along with the City of Beverly Hills Public Works.

According to a press release from Therese Kosterman, Public Information Manager for the City of Beverly Hills, around 12-15 single and multi-family buildings are currently without water service for an estimated eight hours, but a better estimate is expected to be provided later on Thursday.

While several homes in the neighborhood have endured some water damage, one resident has been displaced for the evening, noted Kosterman in the press release.

Beverly Hills Water Company is providing bottled water to the section of residents in West Hollywood who have been experiencing the water shut off.
