SANTA MONICA—A new seafood restaurant has opened in Santa Monica. West Side Oyster Club, which hosted a grand opening on Friday, June 26, featuring lobster rolls and Grand Cru Caviar. West Side Oyster Club is located in what was once Blue Plate Oysterette on 1355 Ocean Avenue.

The space was revamped with a mix of painted and wood highlights and a palette of white, blue, and yellow by designer David Alverez of Studio Alverez, maintaining the spirit of SoCal and especially the aliveness of Santa Monica.

Local owners, Greg and Yunnie Morena spoke to Los Angeles Magazine about the opening.

“Santa Monica raised us, and we’ve been giving it back for nearly 50 years. The West Side Oyster Club isn’t just an evolution – it’s a lifestyle,” Greg told LA Magazine.

The establishment features an array of beer-to-wine selections and craft cocktails, including a Kyoto Old Fashioned with Japanese whiskey and a West Side Spritz with vodka, cucumber, strawberry, Aperol, and bubbles.

The restaurant has luxury meals from casual snacks that include a raw bar with West and East Coast shellfish, a tiered seafood tower, and fried oyster and shrimp po’boys. There are seafood classics like fried calamari, clam chowder, bread bowls, and fish and chips. There are also three caviar plate size options, all of which include caviar on ice, crème fraîche, potato chips, and chives.

West Side Oyster Club will be open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
