MALIBU—The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Zachary Benton Self, 19, has officially been sentenced after pleading no contest to stalking singer Lana Del Rey.

According to a press release from Greg Risling, Public Information Officer of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Self entered his plea on Monday,  January 11, to one count of stalking and was sentenced to 84 days in county jail and placed on probation for five years. A 10-year protective order was also issued, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated.

Prosecutors of the case noted that as of November 2, 2015, Self began stalking the singer through social media. On November 29, the defendant broke into the singer’s home, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant. Due to ongoing renovations, the home had been unoccupied.

Construction workers saw Self at the singer’s home on November 30, and contacted police. Prosecutors indicated that he fled the scene when officers arrived. On December 1, Self was located and arrested by authorities near Santa Monica.

The case was investigated by the Malibu/Lost Hills Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and was handled by Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall of the Target Crimes Division.
